Blue Garage Pilates is a private studio near Century City. We are located in a non-commercial setting, with a beautiful garden, and lots of fresh air. The Blue Garage studio has been in business for over fifteen years, and we take pride in our professional, yet personal training. Most of our clients have been with us for many years, and we are always seeking to expand our community. We offer private sessions, as well as groups and classes. In 2010 we will also be offering mixed yoga, and beginning adult ballet classes. Our studio is open seven days a week, and we are happy to accommodate our clients. A positive attitude here...we work hard and laugh harder.
The Pilates Method combines mental and physical discipline in order to improve the muscular balance and alignment of the body. Typically, during workouts and everyday activities, we tend to use our larger muscle groups to accomplish an action. Because of this, the smaller, supportive muscles can weaken and become tense. Quite often, we just grip our muscles and try to force them to obey our commands. This can create pain, strain, and injury. With the education of the Pilates Method, you will learn to use the smaller, supportive muscles, which allow for healthier daily movement, as well as a beautiful, toned, and elongated body. We use the main principles of breath and core work which helps the body flow in an efficient, organic motion. Tension will dissolve, and you will appear pounds lighter, just by redistributing energy in a solid and healthy way.
Joseph Pilates originally created this work for the layperson, so they could be comfortable and free from pain. We are dedicated to our students becoming stronger, leaner, more flexible and perfectly aligned. Favored by athletes, dancers, and those rehabilitating from injury, Pilates is easily adapted to your individual needs. We create the hour-long sessions according to the client's ability. The specially designed equipment uses spring resistance and supportive, padded surfaces. The workouts will leave you feeling revitalized and refreshed.

I went to Denise at Blue Garage and I thought it was terrific. She improved my form, posture and strengthened my core. If you have never tried Pilates you will be amazed at how good it makes you feel. Thanks Denise.
The whole environment of Blue Garage is wonderful - peaceful - serene. I really enjoyed my first Pilates experience and look forward to getting my muscles working properly with Denise's help. Her experience and expertise really puts you at ease for an awesome workout! And the first one is FREE! Mention my name!
I had no idea Pilate was so good for you. Denise provided an excellent background on pilate, the effects of poor posture, weak bones etc. She worked with me on each exercise, which at the time felt effortless. The personal attention is amazing. Later that day, I felt her instruction, it was a good "hurt' where you realize the positive effects of breathing properly and proper stretch accompanied by balanced muscle toning. You have got to experience it to appreciate it.
